Dr. Swagata Banerjee is an Assistant Professor of Agricultural Economics and the Coordinator of Undergraduate programs in Agribusiness Management and Agricultural Economics in Alabama A&M University, Normal, Alabama, USA. Dr. Banerjee has received his Bachelor's and a Master's degree in Economics (with specialization in International Economics and option in Economic Planning) from Calcutta University, India. He has received his second Master’s degree in Resource and Applied Economics from the University of Nevada in Reno, and PhD in Agricultural Economics from the University of Georgia in Athens. Dr. Banerjee has also served as a Post-Doctoral Associate in Mississippi State University, Stoneville, Mississippi. Dr. Banerjee's primary research interest lies in the area of economics of production and natural resources, especially related to irrigating various crops under reduced water supply scenarios in the presence of risks and uncertainties.
